Education:

A graduate of Samford University, Jim received his Ph.D. from Southern Seminary.

In His Service:

Jim serves as Associate Professor of Religion and Director of Ministerial Formation at Samford University. In the latter role, he has developed the Preministerial Scholars program through which ministerial students of high academic and professional promise receive merit scholarships and participate in a rigorous program of ministerial training. He has been a member of Brookwood Baptist Church since 1995 and joined the staff as Interim Pastor in March 2008. Jim also served as Interim Preacher for a brief time in 2006 and from March through October of 2008. He was called as Teaching Pastor at Brookwood on October 12, 2008.

Jim is married to Deanna and they have two children, Hannah and Nicholas.
