Father is always at His work to this very day, and I too am working...
I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself:
He can do only what He sees His Father doing,
because whatever the Father does the Son does also.
For the Father loves the Son and shows Him all He does.
John 5:17, 19-20

ABOUT LAST YEAR'S MISSION

Brookwood’s team of medical mission volunteers  served in the oceanside city of Rio de Janeiro where they worked with the urban poor.  In partnership with Southern Baptist missionaries Ray and Sharon Fairchild, the team served in favellas, the slum areas of urban Rio.

Brazil is the largest country in South America, only slightly smaller than the United States.  The national language is Portuguese and the predominant religion is Roman Catholic.  However, Spiritism is also a very popular belief.

Rio is a city on the east coast of Brazil, with a population of more than 8 million people.  The Brookwood team will be holding a medical missions clinic, complete with medical exams, dental exams, eye exams, and a pharmacy for filling prescriptions. The most important part of our work will be evangelism, for it is involved in every aspect of the clinic.  We will also be going door-to-door in the local community.  We want every person to know that they are loved, cared for, and that they can have eternal life through Jesus Christ.
