ETHAN ASTERS, WORSHIP MINISTER
(11:00 am Contemporary Service)
A native of Tupelo, Mississippi, Ethan is seeking a B.M. in Church Music with a minor in Religion at Samford. He has traveled throughout U.S. leading worship for various churches, conferences and events in Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Arkansas, Texas, Missouri, North Carolina, and Florida. Through his work with the Preministerial Scholars program, Ethan has served in some unique ministry capacities, including an inner-city position with Mission Birmingham as well as worship leader positions at Hunter Street Baptist, and the Church at Trace Crossing. Ethan has released two CD’s, and many of his songs are available on ITunes.      
 
MELINDA DRESSLER, ORGANIST

Melinda earned her bachelor of arts in music from Samford University and attended graduate school at the University of Alabama where she was a student of Amanda Penick and represented the piano graduate division as a soloist at the Alabama Music Teachers Convention. During her sophomore year at Samford in 1971, she came to Brookwood to serve as pianist.  After the sanctuary was completed, she became organist in 1984.  Melinda also conducts two adult handbell choirs.  Melinda and husband Ralph have two children, Emily and Lee.  Her hobbies include playing tennis, working sudoku puzzles, and playing ping pong.
 
 
DR. BRENT REEVES, PIANIST

Since 2001, Brent Reeves has served as pianist and accompanies the youth and adult choirs and congregational singing during the traditional service.  He received his BA degree in music from Samford University, a master's degree in music from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a doctor of music arts in piano performance from the University of Alabama.  Brent served as pianist at Mount Calvary Baptist Church (Albertville, AL) and Arapaho Road Baptist Church (Garland, TX).  He also was organist at Huffman Baptist Church.  Brent also is an independent instructor of piano in his home studio.  He and wife Lorna have two children, Emma and Phillip.  His interests include reading, geography, and yard work.
