Tim joined the staff in September 2009 and leads worship in the Traditional Service at 8:30 a.m. He received the Bachelor of Music in Music Education and Voice from Samford University; the Master of Music and the Doctor of Musical Arts in conducting from the University of Colorado Boulder. He is the conductor of the Samford's A Cappella Choir. Dr. Banks has served as the Director of Choruses for the Alabama Symphony Orchestra.His international study and concert performance credits include work in England, France, Belgium, Germany, Spain and the People's Republic of China. He is married to Wanda Alexander Banks, and they have two daughters, Allison and Abigail.

JESSICA RIEKE HEINE, CONTEMPORARY WORSHIP LEADER

Jessica serves as the worship leader for The Altar service at 11:00 a.m. Since the age of 15, Jessica has been leading worship, starting in her hometown of Paducah, KY. In 2001, Jessica moved to Birmingham and joined the band for college ministry, University Christian Fellowship where she led around 600 college students in worship each week. Jessica spent her college summers in camp ministry and, in 2004, expanded her efforts as a songwriter and released her first solo project entitled "Casting Daylight." In 2007, she released her second CD, "Finding a Fugitive." Jessica currently divides her time between leading contemporary worship at Brookwood, and traveling with her band. Jessica's husband is Jeff Heine.

Music Opportunities for Adults

Joyful Ringers (Adult Handbell Choir) rehearses at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday mornings. Directed by Melinda Dressler, this group of ladies play during worship services and occasionally share their beautiful music with residents of nursing homes and care facilities.

Adult Handbells, which consists of some "Joyful Ringers" and others in the church, meet on Sunday afternoons at 4:45 p.m. to rehearse.

Sanctuary Choir, directed by Dr. Tim Banks, rehearses on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. in the Choir Room. They sing during the Traditional Service at 8:30 a.m. They also present cantatas during the Christmas season. This year's program, Christmas Cantata: The Incarnation, will be presented on Sunday, December 13, at 11:00 a.m. at a combined worship service.

Brookwood Praise Team sings in The Altar Service at 11:00 a.m. Participation requires an audition. Jessica Heine leads this group that rehearses on Tuesday nights at 7:00 p.m. During this Christmas season, the group will present Behold the Lamb of God in a combined worship service on Sunday, December 6, at 11:00 a.m.

Music Opportunities for Youth

Youth Handbells rehearse on Sunday afternoons at 4:00 p.m. Each year, they perform during an "end of school year" service, as well as during the Musical Celebration on the first Sunday of Advent at 6:00 p.m.

Youth Choir meets each Sunday afternoon at 4:45 p.m. They also perform at the same events as do the Youth Handbells. They also perform "on the mission field" from time to time.
