Worship & Music MinistryBrookwood Baptist Church has two worship services on Sunday mornings:
Music Opportunities for Adults
Joyful Ringers (Adult Handbell Choir) rehearses at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday mornings. Directed by Melinda Dressler, this group of ladies play during worship services and occasionally share their beautiful music with residents of nursing homes and care facilities.
Adult Handbells, which consists of some "Joyful Ringers" and others in the church, meet on Sunday afternoons at 4:45 p.m. to rehearse.
Sanctuary Choir, directed by Dr. Tim Banks, rehearses on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. in the Choir Room. They sing during the Traditional Service at 8:30 a.m. They also present cantatas during the Christmas season. This year's program, Christmas Cantata: The Incarnation, will be presented on Sunday, December 13, at 11:00 a.m. at a combined worship service.
Brookwood Praise Team sings in The Altar Service at 11:00 a.m. Participation requires an audition. Jessica Heine leads this group that rehearses on Tuesday nights at 7:00 p.m. During this Christmas season, the group will present Behold the Lamb of God in a combined worship service on Sunday, December 6, at 11:00 a.m.
Music Opportunities for Youth
Youth Handbells rehearse on Sunday afternoons at 4:00 p.m. Each year, they perform during an "end of school year" service, as well as during the Musical Celebration on the first Sunday of Advent at 6:00 p.m.
Youth Choir meets each Sunday afternoon at 4:45 p.m. They also perform at the same events as do the Youth Handbells. They also perform "on the mission field" from time to time.
