Jerusalem Ministries (local)
Alabama Baptist Children's Homes
Alabama Baptist Children's Homes & Family Ministries seeks to protect, nurture, and restore children and families by providing group homes, campuses, foster homes, family care for homeless moms with children, and counseling services. Contact Kay Taylor for more information.
Alabama Ministries, Inc.
This ministry seeks to support the Chaplains and inmates of the Birmingham City Jail. Contact Nance Lovvorn for more information.
Backpack Buddies is a nationwide children’s feeding program during the school year which provides nutritious snacks and simple meals for children over the weekend. Targeting children ages 5-12, this mission provides those children who receive free or reduced-cost lunches and breakfasts at their schools with food for the weekend. Most “buddies” are experiencing homelessness, foster care, shelter care, food insecurity, or other adverse family situations. This is a new ministry to Brookwood, which began in August 2016. Bigtime is staffed by part-time and full-time teachers and coaches who lead Bible studies and retreats joining forces with local youth ministers, moms and dads to teach and model the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Contact Jody Martin for more information.
Discovery Clubs are free, after-school Bible clubs for children in grades 2-5 on public school campuses-a modern-day mission field. This fun-filled hour consists of a snack, Bible lesson, memory verses, praise and worship through singing, dancing, crafts, small group prayer, and mentoring time. Local churches sponsor these clubs with prayer, financial contributions, and volunteer support. Discovery Clubs meet for one hour per week, 23 weeks a year. Early Childhood Center of Brookwood Baptist Church
The “ECC” is the childcare center located at Brookwood Baptist Church and is a mission of the church. The church supports their continuing efforts to provide a safe, Christian environment for children, in which they may learn, grow, and build relationships. The Firehouse Shelter is one of Brookwood’s oldest long-term mission opportunities. Volunteers work from 8:30 am – 12:30 pm on the 2nd Monday and 5th Thursday of each month. Contact Angie Sanders, the Brookwood Coordinator, for more information.
Hands of Hur
Hands of Hur exists to provide Bible teaching so as to “Revitalize and Strengthen existing ministries.” Fran Sciacca is the lead teacher. Contact Merritt Rogers for more information.

Lifelink Career Resource Center
Lifelink is a ministry, which helps to build the bridge of hope and resources for men returning home from Prison. Executive Director, Gil Franks, conducts classes inside Bibb Country Correctional Facility, helping inmates develop exit strategies and home plans for their eventual return to society. Partnering with Dawson, Vestavia Hills, and New Hope churches, Brookwood provides funding and volunteers to work with literacy missions, after-school tutoring, a medical clinic, tax assistance, benevolence, holiday aid, family programs, and more. RA is a Christ-centered school in Fairfield, AL. The school, grades K-12, is breaking generational cycles of poverty, violence, addictions, and fatherlessness in the greater Birmingham area. Brookwood sponsors a scholarship for a child each year. Contact Tim Davis for more information.
S.A.F.E. exists for the purpose of proclaiming God’s plan for sexual purity. The mission of S.A.F.E., Inc., is to make abstinence a desirable, achievable, and sustainable lifestyle for all unmarried people while promoting sexual integrity within marriage. True Vine Evangelical Church
True Vine ministers to the Inglenook community of Birmingham and runs the “Discipling Men for Christ” treatment program for substance abuse. For the past several years, BBC has partnered with and supported True Vine in discerning how best to reach the needy and unchurched in their community. Appalachian Trail Mission
The Appalachian Trail missionaries join hikers in Damascus, VA, for a long weekend festival called "Trail Days'. Our objective is to share the love of Jesus in every interaction with hikers, from sharing meals, providing foot care and first aid, to hosting a welcome tent. This trip usually occurs the 2nd week of May. Contact Charles Vianey for more information.
Construction Mission (Builders for Christ)
Since 1981, the Brookwood Builders for Christ have led an extensive effort to expand the Body of Believers by constructing new or improving existing churches all across the U.S. (Click here to see a complete list of these projects.) Although we are builders, the focus is not just on construction, but in helping communities improve their facilities in order to reach out and minister to their communities and beyond. Youth Summer Mission
Each year the BBC youth serve a community somewhere in the U.S. They have been to the west and east coasts, as well as serving in the southeast many times. This mission allows youth from 7th-12th grades, an opportunity to meet and work with people and in areas outside of their everyday experience. Contact Austin Keim for more information.

Hands of Compassion (Manos de Compasion)
This mission is sponsored by Casey & Simeon Sandkuhl. Brookwood Baptist Church will support the construction of a school to provide education of abused, neglected, and orphaned children of Guatemala. Mongolia Military Mission
Each year, Bill Dean and Larry Dennis lead a group to Mongolia to conduct leadership and psychology seminars for the uniformed services; to deepen connections with business leaders in Ulan Bataar; and encourage missionaries through Mongolia Campus Crusades for Christ. South Africa Inter-Generational Mission
An Inter-Generational Mission trip to Cape Town, South Africa to work with Living Hope Ministries, is scheduled for July 2017. This trip is open to anyone who has completed the 9th grade or above (with parents). Ministry opportunities include assisting with Kids Clubs (VBS), training healthcare workers, neighborhood ministry to women and children, and helping with the economic empowerment programs. Youth South Africa Mission
Each year at the end of June, the high school graduates travel to Cape Town to work with Living Hope Ministries. They spend their time working primarily with children who live in some of the poorest, most neglected regions of the world. Contact Austin Keim for more information.
